Bruce Niemi
Inspector/Owner
EXPERIENCE
Bruce has been inspecting homes since 1995 and conducts pre-purchase home inspections for buyers of new and existing homes in the Puget Sound area. Bruce brings to his inspections extensive experience in building facility maintenance, carpentry, and home remodeling. All of his inspections are performed to the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) Standards of Practice.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Bruce is proud to be an active certified member of the oldest and most respected inspector certifying organization in the United States, the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). He is the current ASHI Western Washington chapter secretary. To become a member of ASHI, an inspector must meet rigorous professional and technical requirements, including the successful completion of two comprehensive exams and report verification of ASHI standards. In addition, he or she must perform at least 250 fee-paid home inspections and must take a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education annually.
Once admitted to ASHI, inspectors must comply with the Society’s Bylaws and Code of Ethics. The ASHI code of ethics prohibits paying or receiving commission for referrals and helps insure a fair and unbiased inspection.
Real estate professionals and government housing officials recommend that all homebuyers have their prospective property examined by an independent home inspector before the final purchase commitment. These experts recognize ASHI membership as an assurance of an inspector’s competence and professionalism.
TRAINING
Bruce graduated from the Property Inspectors training Institute in Arlington, Virginia back in 1995. Since then he has completed a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education credits every year.
OFF HOURS
When Bruce is not inspecting houses he enjoys spending time with his family and friends fishing, camping, water skiing, cross country skiing, biking, hiking and just about any other outdoor activity you can think of. He also enjoys tinkering with his old truck and old boat - attempting to restore them to their glory days.

POSITION
Back in 1995, when we started Spencer Home Inspection Services, I was working full time outside of the home and helping Bruce out a little with book keeping and marketing materials. On July 1, 2003 all of that changed. I quite my job outside the home so that I could stay home and run our home office. This change has helped us provide you with a higher level of customer service by allowing you to get in touch with us as soon as possible, schedule inspections when needed and provide a faster response to your inspection needs.
It has been a great pleasure getting to know our clients and being able to help them schedule their home inspections. It has also been great fun designing this web site to provide homebuyers with additional information about Spencer Home Inspection Services and about the home inspection industry in general. If there is any additional information that you would like to see included on our web site in the future, please feel free to send me an email at inspection@spencerhomeinspection.com. We are always striving to find new ways to serve the homebuyer.
OFF HOURS
When I’m not shuffling papers and answering telephones I enjoy outdoor activities with my family such as fishing, crabbing, cross country skiing, camping, biking and swimming. When the weather turns cold and ugly I like to read a good book or play scrabble, monopoly, cards or some other family game in front of the fire.
